Our Outdoor Environment

A Space to Play, Grow, and Discover

At MAC, outdoor exploration is an essential part of a child’s daily experience. Our thoughtfully designed playground and garden areas offer a safe, inspiring space for movement, learning, and discovery.

Our playground features durable metal structures set atop a soft poured rubber surface to cushion every climb, jump, and adventure. Open areas invite creative play, social connection, and physical development. For our youngest learners, we offer a separate playground designed especially for babies and toddlers, ensuring a safe, nurturing space where early movement and exploration are encouraged.

Just steps away, Pepe’s Garden invites children to connect with nature and experience the joy of growing their own food. Raised wooden garden beds overflow with vegetables, herbs, and flowers, carefully tended by little hands using real, child-sized tools — including gloves, watering cans, and trowels. Cheerful marigolds and trellises add vibrant life to the garden beds, while fresh herbs like lavender scent the air.

At the entrance to the garden, a hand-painted mural welcomes visitors with a scene inspired by The Giving Tree and the uplifting lyrics of “What a Wonderful World,” creating a beautiful message of generosity, gratitude, and connection to the Earth.

Adding to the joyful atmosphere, colorful rainbow garden chimes — lovingly handmade from recycled bottle caps — sway in the breeze, reminding children daily of creativity, sustainability, and the beauty of nature’s music.

Throughout the seasons, children can be found harvesting cherry tomatoes, smelling fresh lavender, observing broccoli sprouting, or simply resting among the peaceful sounds of the garden. Every moment nurtures responsibility, patience, and a deep love for the natural world.

Together, our playground and garden create a magical outdoor environment where independence, imagination, and a love of learning bloom — all under the wide, welcoming sky.
